Meet the Team

Sarah Alice Lee

I’ve been practicing yoga since I was a teenager and have been teaching since 2015. After experiencing two major earthquakes and thousands of aftershocks when I lived in Christchurch New Zealand my nervous system was a mess. It was yoga that bought me back to from being a zombie in survival mode to living a full life again. After that I knew I wanted to teach and share how this practice has the ability to balance both the body and the mind.

My vinyasa style is playful and strong and suited for all levels. My sequences are inspired by my Blissology training where connecting to nature and finding joy in movement to a some awesome playlists are paramount.

I do have a more serious zen side that you will see with my Yin classes. I love to geek out on anatomy, and guide this practice from both an eastern and western medicine approach.

I am honoured to be hosting the retreat days.

Nicola Morek - Kleen Kitchen

The Kleen Kitchen was established in 2017 by Nicola Morek.

Food has always been a big passion for Nicola. Growing up seeing her Belgian Grandmother put so much love into every meal she prepared, was a huge inspiration.

Family life then, and now, involves a real emphasis on sharing meals with your loved ones and being taught to really enjoy what you are eating in a mindful way. As a Mum of three boys with very different tastes, keeping things fresh and fun for all the family is a speciality of hers.

In 2015 Nicola really started thinking about, and questioning, the food choices she was making. After gradually changing her diet over the last few years The Kleen Kitchen was set up with the aim of sharing quality food, with an emphasis on organic, local and seasonal ingredients.

The Kleen Kitchen's philosophy is to feed your body with most wholesome, freshly made, colourful and nourishing food possible.

Alex Smallman

Founder of Ubber Mummies

A note from Alex,

In 2011, life changed dramatically for me. I had a breakdown, was suffering with depression and realised that I was the only one in control of turning the ship around. So, I did just that.  I ditched my old life of being a natural stone tiler, the owner of a construction company and transformed my life into what I wanted it to be. Was it easy? No! Was it worth it? Hell yes! I now have 3 businesses which I am passionate about and all revolve around helping others and having fun!

Exercise has always been hugely important to me and when I made the decision to change my life, I knew I wanted to follow my passion for health and fitness and helping other people. I retrained as a personal trainer and could never have imagined it would bring me to where I am today, supporting so many people in such a positive way.

Uber Mummies was founded in 2015 when I moved to Hove and a very dear friend told me she’d love to train with me but couldn’t because, like so many women, she struggled to fit in exercise around her kids. Never one to be defeated, I told her to put her son in his buggy, bring him to the park and we’d train with him! 3 years, and many mums and kids later(!), and Uber Mummies has grown into the most special, inspiring and empowering community that I am so proud of.

My 3 pillar approach to health and wellbeing is: move, nourish, connect.  It’s vital to move your body, to nourish it with good food and nutrients and connect to beautiful, positive people who make you feel good.  This is what Uber Mummies is all about.

My mission everyday when I wake up is to positively impact others’ lives, to inspire, motivate and support people however I possibly can. It brings me so much joy and happiness to see our community grow, to see people change and to see other people support my mission.

Uber Mummies is all for sharing, the mission and vision is huge and you are all so welcome to be a part of it.

Cacao Ceremony with Sarah Campbell Lloyd

Founder of Yard Yoga, Sarah is well known for inviting students to come and ‘try’ and for creating enthusiasm and motivation to enjoy yoga and all its amazing benefits.

We are so thrilled that she will lead us in a sacred Cacao Ceremony.

“Cacao ceremonies are a centuries-old ritual seen as the ultimate heart-opener. In addition to being packed full of vitamins and minerals, cacao increases blood flow to the brain which helps to strengthen awareness and focus. It helps the body to heal, detoxify and to give your immune system a good boost. The experience of raw chocolate can also assist in energetic healing and receiving clarity in the areas of love, purpose, intuitive abilities, career and personal growth.”

Nidra Restore with Helen Moss

We are so excited to welcome Helen who specialises in teaching yoga Nidra and Restorative Yoga.

“For me, yoga is a collaboration, not a one size fits all or a teacher knows best situation. What is comfortable, challenging or restful for someone is unique to them. All of my work is offered with kindness, humility, invitation and at its heart, a deep sense of welcome.”

Crystal Sonic Sounds with Verity Megan

Join us for a very special sound bath for sonic therapy.

Sonic therapy is the use of sound, vibration and resonance as a healing modality via the alchemy crystal singing bowls. When we receive the sounds of the bowls, the body releases tension, the mind lets go of thinking and emotions wash away, to move into harmony with the truest aspect of ourselves. It allows a sense of receptivity which can only be found in deep rest; it is in this space we begin to heal, to feel our inner resonance and move from imbalance and unease to experience inner peace and harmony.’

'Verity Megan shares her passions for Yoga, Ayurveda, Sound Therapy and Mindful Living from her earthy studio in Penshurst, Kent.

She founded Flourish Wellness as a sacred space for people to return to wholeness; to experience themselves fully and feel a connection to the intelligence in all living things.

Deeply inspired by the natural world, Verity's personal practice has been a homecoming; returning home to self and attuning to the rhythms of nature, to live consciously and in harmony with the world around. This journey opened up an experiential pathway to embody consciousness and unlock the innate healing abilities we each have within.

She has always had a fascination for sound with sensitivity to audible frequencies and vibration. Through the depths of challenge, Verity used Mantra as a potent tool to shift energy and release stale beliefs, to experience the spark of life and a sense of joy. But it wasn't until she integrated the Crystal Sonic practice that she unlocked the potency and power of sound transmission.

Essential Oils with Francesca

Francesca is 200hr Yoga Teacher who specialises in working with essential oils.

As a trained wellness she understands about the healing benefits of the oils and loves to share about all the ways they can transform your health:

“A sense of smell can elicit powerful physiological, mental, and emotional responses, meaning essential oils can be used to lift spirits or calm a mood simply by placing one or two drops in the diffuser.

Topical application allows the oils to be absorbed by the skin, alleviating aches and pains.

And, as well as making many recipes (like my yummy vegan chocolates) taste delicious, there’s also huge benefits to ingesting oils too – with many natural plants having so many healing benefits.

I use essential oils in all of my yoga classes, in my cooking, massage and generally anywhere I can in my day to day life, and I certainly recognise the benefits.”

If you are interested in learning more about how you can restore emotional and physical balance to your body through aromatherapy with essential oils then this is the retreat for you.

Flower Essence Therapy Workshop

“Throughout history many cultures have been harnessing the healing power of plants and flowers for their natural health giving properties. In the 1930’s bacteriologist and homeopath Dr Edward Bach whose research into finding a more holistic approach to medicine led him to the creation of 38 flower remedies and his rescue remedy that is widely known and used throughout the world today.”

Join us for this very special workshop as we are introduced to the healing qualities of the natural world and how to utilise them during this transitional time.

Lucy came to essences indirectly after searching for the most natural way of supporting her children emotionally whilst they were growing up and trying to make sense of the World. Experiencing first hand how effective they were, she qualified as an Advanced Essence Practitioner accredited by the British Flower and Vibrational Essence Association in 2015. As well as working one to one with client’s, Lucy is very passionate about sharing her knowledge of this very safe and simple healing modality that has the power to restore balance between mind, body and spirit.
